Traveling from Kuala Lumpur (KL) to Malacca (Melaka) is quite convenient, with several options available:
1. By Car
• Distance: About 145 km (90 miles).
• Travel Time: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic.
• Route: Take the North-South Expressway (E2) southbound, then exit at the Ayer Keroh interchange for Melaka.
2. By Bus
• Travel Time: 2 to 2.5 hours.
• Cost: Around MYR 10-20 per ticket.
• Bus Stations: Buses depart from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) in Kuala Lumpur and arrive at the Melaka Sentral bus terminal.
• Popular Bus Operators: KKKL, Transnasional, and Mayang Sari.
3. By Train
• There’s no direct train service from KL to Melaka. However, you can take a train to Tampin or Pulau Sebang station (about 30 km from Melaka) and then take a taxi or bus into the city.
4. Private Transport or Taxi
• You can hire a taxi or private car through ride-hailing apps (Grab or similar), which may take about 2 hours and cost between MYR 200-300, depending on demand.
Driving is the quickest and most flexible option, while buses offer an affordable and comfortable alternative.
