Abstract: Mitacs is a national, not-for-profit organization that has designed and delivered research and training programs in Canada for 18 years. Working with 60 universities, thousands of companies, and both federal and provincial governments, we build partnerships that support industrial and social innovation in Canada. Mitacs has provided funding opportunities for over 33,000 student and postdoctoral internships with industry, eligible not-for-profit, and international academic collaborative research projects.

Speaker Bio: Dr. Ashley Hannon is a Business Development Director with Mitacs, Inc. serving the Waterloo-Wellington corridor. Ashley’s responsibilities at Mitacs include connecting with local academic researchers and assist industry with their R&D challenges. By creating and maintaining a network of contacts through the local universities, colleges, and industry, she provides support for collaborations between partners which leverage Mitacs funding opportunities. Ashley’s ultimate goal is to increase academic-industry research partnerships for a more innovative Canada.
