07 Jan 2024. Oriental Honey Buzzard visits again! (Compilation)

Had a bit of time before dinner so I let Anja have an evening flight around the neighbourhood. Then from a distance, I saw what I initially thought was Anja gliding effortlessly towards me from the front. But last I checked, Anja's GPS showed she was at the back side of the house. Then seeing that the bid bird approaching didn't have a antenna attached to its leg, and was far too big now (as it glided above head over the roof), I realised it was a raptor!

I stood up and called for Anja. And her reply was a long scream, as if to tell the whole neighbourhood that an eagle had landed on our roof. Anja immediately returned and after I secured her, I got out my Insta360 and used a selfie stick to get a better view of the raptor. It was the same one that appeared a month ago and another time a week ago. An Oriental Honey Buzzard. It was probably just curious and decided to come close to see what a macaw was. Well, my roof is close enough, thank you very much!
