Before throwing money at the project I wanted to test it out on a server I already own. I am using one of the Dell Poweredge R730 servers I have for sale. All the components fit nicely as expected. The IOCREST SYBA SI-PEX40161 with four 1TB NVMe drives passed through as expected to TrueNAS. My custom Tesla Power cables worked as intended and fit perfectly. The question is do I want to listen to the fan noise, or do I want to try finding something even faster. The problem is my budget is less than $2000. I may be able to snag a R740 or R7515 if I am patient though.
