Jørn Hoel song into Norwegian music history with two ballads that almost considered a national treasure to be reckoned: "Have a Dream" and "A hand to hold."
With his hoarse voice and his lyrics about love, he quickly proclaimed Norway's new sex symbol of media.
Jørn Hoel began singing and playing guitar along with classmate Steinar Albrightsen in Tromso. Hoel struck in earnest through during 1986-87, first in the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix final with the song "Inkululeko", which was number two in the Norwegian final. So with the album "Heat out of ice" in 1987. For this album, he was awarded the Year Grammy under Spellemannprisen same year.
Jørn has since released several albums, both solo and together with his friend Steinar Albrigtsen. He had a new big hit with the song "Lost in the tango" from 1994.
