KANSAS - ACADEMY OF MUSIC - NEW YORK CITY - JUNE 1975 - RETRO ROCK

Описание к видео KANSAS - ACADEMY OF MUSIC - NEW YORK CITY - JUNE 1975 - RETRO ROCK

The year was 1975. The month was June, and I was 22 years old on my first visit to New York City. My favorite band, KANSAS, was playing at the Academy of Music in the city, opening up for HOT TUNA. My New York friend, and the keyboard player in a group I was in stood outside for tickets, only to be turned away when it SOLD OUT. In 1982, when FM radio was still airing concerts, the famous RETRO ROCK broadcast this show. I couldn't be there in person, but have listened to this incredible music for almost 40 years since it aired. THIS was the KANSAS that I love. The early powerful and intricate weaving of violins, guitars and synthesizers. I believe that this is probably the entire set they played since they were the opening act. As a collector of all things KANSAS (especially the original 6) this was a tough one to find, and I still am on the hunt for a vinyl copy! I am only offering this as an avid fan of the band, and do the processing and uploads because of that! KANSAS IS A BAND!! Dedicated with love to Robby Steinhardt. You lit the fire in me with that first album and your violin. Rest In Peace...
