Footage of M1, M31, M66 and QM6 buses at 42nd Street & 5th Avenue in Midtown, near Bryant Park. Due to the National Puerto Rican Day Parade on 5th Avenue, many buses were detoured in Midtown and the Upper East Side. The 5th Avenue routes operated via Lexington Avenue from 86th Street to 42nd Street, except for the M5 which went down on 7th Avenue to 32nd Street.

Crosstown routes between 42nd Street and 86th Street were rerouted to either 42nd Street or via the 86th Street Transverse through Central Park. The M31, M50 and M57 were rerouted down to 42nd Street. The M72 and M79 were rerouted up to 86th Street. The M66 bus route operated via 42nd Street eastbound, and via 86th Street westbound.

Queens express buses took Madison Avenue north of 42nd Street, since they would not be able to cross 5th Avenue at 57th Street where they normally do.
