A local resident reflects on the importance of care and maintenance of the public realm and scenic areas and how community based initiatives can help achieve. The need to build more social and community-based housing to attract more young people to live and work in the area, rather than just a place for commuter housing for people working in Aberdeen.

The 12 short films on lived experiences across 12 locations were first made in 2020 as part the Housing to 2040 travelling exhibition. At each location and in each film a different aspect on housing and place was discussed in order to present the multifaceted aspects of housing, people’s lived experiences. The conversation in the films shows the interviewees reflecting on their passion and aspiration for their own community as well as highlighting some of the issues and challenges that are local to the place, and others that are shared across geography.
