On July 3, 2020, UP replaced the 1970s era Safetran signals installed by the C&NW with brand new Siemens style signals. This was the last of 3 crossings in downtown Malta to get new signals, as 3rd St. got new signals in June, and 4th St. got them in May. I arrived early that morning to record the whole process. They started around 8 AM, and by 6 PM, they had left with the new signals in place, and the old signals had been taken away. I also live streamed a good chunk of the work too, though I didn't get the whole thing. All of the parts I didn't stream will be in Part 2.

I got so much footage I had to split it up. Part 1 will show the old signals being removed and the new signals being set into place. Part 2 will show them testing the new signals and working out the kinks, ending with the signals being taken away from the crossing and an overview of the new signals.
