For the kootu masala ( to be roasted)

1 tsp sesame oil
1.5 tsp dhania
1 tsp chana dal
1 tsp urad dal
1/2 tsp peppercorn
curry leaves( optional)
Add without roasting
1 tsp jeera ( not to be fried)
1 green chilli
1/4 cup coconut

I used 1 chow chow ( you can use 1/2 head cabbage or 1/2 lauki( finely chopped), or any veg of your choice.
1/4 cup yellow moong dal
salt to taste
coriander leaves for garnish

For tadka, you can use coconut oil or sesame oil, mustard seeds, urad dal and can also add 1 dry red chillies if you like.
