Southwest Plaza - Littleton Colorado - Denver’s Dying Mall | ERA_Productions

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Southwest Plaza Mall in Littleton Colorado! Opening its doors in 1983, Southwest Plaza would be the shiny new indoor mall for Littleton. The mall would remain successful throughout the 80s and 90s, however, the 2000s would start signaling trouble. With more malls opening up not too far away including Colorado Mills and Park Meadows, Southwest Plaza would start struggling. After two renovations, both in 2001 and 2015, it would be clear that the mall would have to find a way outside of retail to survive. They started experimenting with entertainment. However, one of the entertainment venues would close in 2024 due to very bad controversy. Also adding in the loss of anchors like Macy’s and Sears, Southwest Plaza currently now sit at 55% occupancy. So let’s take a walk through Southwest Plaza and see what it holds in store for us!
