In this video Yogrishi will answer two of the most common questions that come up with Kapalabhati, Shining Skull Breath. When should I practice? And how many rounds should I do?

These are GREAT questions!

Kapalabhati is a Kriya, a purification technique of Hatha Yoga. We should practice this breath technique in the morning since that is when our body is ready and is working to purify. By practicing Kapalabhati in the morning you will support your body's natural purification process.

This technique aids in cleaning out the sinuses, increasing blood circulation as well as purifying the lungs, kidneys, liver and skin!!

So how many rounds should you be practicing? That will all depend upon where you are in your practice!

If you are brand new to Kapalabhati begin slowly, starting with one minute and then working your way up. The key is to not add any stress to our nervous system. We want to remain calm and at ease throughout the practice. If we force our body to go too far too quick we will add unnecessary stress. So begin where you are, start slowly, and patiently work your way up to longer rounds.
