Hello, and welcome to my YouTube channel. I mainly produce do-it-yourself vehicle repair videos, but I sometimes work on motorcycles. Hence, the subject of this video is how to remove a motor from a 2003 Honda Shadow 1100. Also, this is part one of two videos on how to remove the engine. 1. From 00:00 to 00:13, there is a brief introduction about the video.
2. From 00:14 to 02:00, the fuel tank is removed from the motorcycle.
3. From 02:01 to 03:14, the gas vapor tank is removed and is located directly under the gas tank.
4. From 03:15 to 03:52, the fuel feed line is disconnected from the carburetor on the right side of the motorcycle. Also, the secondary air filter is partially detached from the carburetors, and clamps are loosened for the air duct assembly.
5. From 03:53 to 04:52, some of the wiring harnesses are moved out of the way to loosen more of the air dust assembly clamps, and finally, most of the air duct is removed.
6. From 04:53 to 05:32, the fuel overflow hose is removed from the carburetor.
7. From 05:33 to 06:18, the coolant tank overflow hose is moved to allow carburetor removal. Also, the starting enrichment valve is removed from the right carburetor.
8. From 06:19 to 07:05, clamps are loosened at the carburetor base and cylinder head.
9. From 07:06 to 09:29, the throttle cables and the starting enrichment valve on the left side are removed.
10. From 09:30 to 10:39, the fuel feed line is disconnected from the left carburetor. In addition, the secondary air filter and the last of the air duct are removed.
11. From 10:40 to 10:48, the last clamps are loosened between the carburetor and the cylinder head on the left side.
12. From 10:49 to 11:58, the carburetors are removed.
13. From 11:59 to 12:33, The front right side fork cover is removed.
14. From 12:34 to 13:24, the engine lower cover is removed to access the clutch cable and coolant drain bolt.
15. From 13:25 to 14:13, the clutch cable is disconnected.
16. From 14:14 to 15:22, the antifreeze is drained from the engine.
17. From 15:23 to 16:10, the left side fork side cover is removed.
18. From 16:11 to 16:35, the electrical connectors are unplugged for the rear brake light switch and the electric fan.
19. From 16:36 to 19:31, the radiator is removed.
20. From 19:32 to 21:35, the exhaust is removed.
21. From 21:36 to 23:58, the front right foot peg, rear brake pedal, and brake light switch are removed.
