On the eve of Papua New Guinea’s 50th Independence Anniversary, Prime Minister Hon. James Marape welcomed the arrival of Air Niugini’s brand-new Airbus A220 at Jacksons International Airport. ✈️🇵🇬

In his address, Prime Minister Marape declared the A220 not just an aircraft, but a powerful symbol of unity, resilience, and national pride as PNG celebrates its Golden Jubilee.

Tribute to Captain Beverley Paki, who made history by flying the A220 into Port Moresby, following in the footsteps of her father, pioneer pilot Captain Ted Paki.
Recognition of partners Airbus, Azorra, Kumul Consolidated Holdings, ADB, EFA and the Air Niugini team for making the milestone possible.
A bold vision for Air Niugini’s future:
• Flights to Narita, Japan by end of 2025
• Direct connections to the Middle East by 2030
• Services to the US East Coast by 2035 to mark PNG’s 60th Anniversary
