The Supper - New Blood (Demo) (Unity) Retro Horror Pixel Art Point and Click Adventure Game Navarro

Описание к видео The Supper - New Blood (Demo) (Unity) Retro Horror Pixel Art Point and Click Adventure Game Navarro

Finally a sequel for "The Supper" is around the corner. The first installment is a fun game by the great horror story author Octavi Navarro already and this one is as quirky weird as it is horrifying it seems from the demo already. Just to let you know, the demo is free, the full game will come with a price tag.
We play a Stewie, a lone guy that lives with the corpse of his mother (that was the hero of the first game) in a big mansion next to a motel (that is maybe not the most original setting, somehow it seems familiar...) and then decides to kill and cook all the weird guest to the motel. The characters that we meet are really well fleshed out and written (and drawn), can't wait to meet more of them.
The graphics looks really cool, like a comical take on the usual realism of games, a dark desaturated day of the tentacle style, but not with as distorted perspectives as in dott, if that makes any sense. But I noticed, there are no walk animation at all. But for that, there are some other fun animations like electrocuting Stewie.
The music is really good and yet barely noticeable, so it really ties into the setting. The SFX are cool and fitting as well and add to the story and also set the mood really good!
So much for that, the puzzles are not that challenging at all, it is very easy to get through the demo, one of the promised bizarre puzzles could have happend in the demo already, that would have been really cool.
And also the controls are quirky, the inventory is always visible, that is actually useful, but for that, to use the items on something you first have to click the target, a sidepanel for that object appears and you need to drag and drop the item there (and then some overanimated animation plays that feels like it belongs to an RPG or fruit ninja or so), it would have been easier to just drag and drop the item on the object on screen. Also when the sidepanel for the object appears you need to close it with a very small X button on the top of the screen, that feels very unneccessary, some click anywhere on the gamescreen could just close that sidepanel. But I see that within that system a missed click on the item to use would also close the sidepannel, so if I were coding that, I'd have the border between the gamescreen and the sidepanel over the whole height be the button to move the panel away again. Anyways, this story seems very fun to explore and the demo was fun already, though I'd have loved to get to kill at least one of them in the demo and not stop before even that, but keep your eyes on the new Supper game...
