In soccer the space can be exposed by switching the play. So the ball has to move quickly from one side of the pitch to the other. In this way we change the point of attack.

It’s important that the first player of the blue and yellow team start at the same time. The player in the center of the field has to defend after playing the ball to his teammate. As you can see, we play 2V1 on two different field. If the defender wins the ball, he can score in the opposite small goal: transition from defending to attacking.

Both teams need to score the 2V1 as soon as possible.

Because the team that scores first gets an extra ball and creates overloads in the next 4V3 game. Now we play on the full pitch with the big goals. It’s the player who started the drill that walks to the center of the exercise to play that extra ball. The first ball needs to be play to the own half of the pitch. Encourage the players to communicate well. Score in the big goal = 1 point.

You can also start the drill on the other side. For this exercise I found some inspiration from an excersise of Thomas Vlaminck.
