IPL is the biggest cricket league in the world which makes crores of rupees hence BCCI is not paying taxes. If we exclude the sponsors, the core IPL ecosystem includes the players, franchises, and BCCI. I have explained in detail in this video how they make money, but let me tell you briefly here.

BCCI's most IPL income comes from selling broadcasting rights. TV broadcasting rights sold in 24575 crores to Disney Star and OTT rights sold to Jio in 24757 crores. BCCI also generates income from Title sponsorship. As TATA is the title sponsor for 2023-2027, TATA has paid 2500 crores for IPL title sponsorship. Also, there are more sponsors like Ceat Tyres, My11Circle, Rupay and many more.

Franchisers are making money from too many sources and they can monetize themselves as they want. Franchisers generate income from individual sponsors, merchandising, broadcasting rights, selling tickets, selling team stakes and much more. Also, franchisers have to pay 20% of their income back to BCCI as a yearly fee.
