Fantastic NB Canadian National unit grain train G870 @ Illinois Rte 157 on the CN St. Louis district

From July 10th, 2024. OH CANADA! OUR HOME AND NATIVE LAND! TRUE PATRIOT LOVE IN ALL THY SONS COMMAND, WITH GLOWING HEARTS WE SEE THEE RISE, THE TRUE NORTH STRONG AND FREE! FROM FAR AND WIDE OH CANADA WE STAND ON GUARD FOR THEE! What a swell Wednesday evening this all turned out to be for me. Thanks goes out to my buddy Scott Nauert as always for the heads up about this 🇨🇦 train too. Instead of seeing Amtrak 21 come into St. Louis at Cerre street amongst all the stupid St. Louis cardinals baseball game junk there, after I ate out to dinner with my dad over at Miss Sherie’s cafeteria near where I live I went or drove right straight over the northern end of the Canadian National St. Louis district at Illinois Route 157 aka Missouri Avenue at a spot the CN railroad calls “Church street” to watch a wonderful & definitely awesome Canadian National led unit grain train symboled G870 come in there at 6:48 pm. It had mostly all brand new and shiny AITX grain hoppers but also several older CBFX grain hoppers in the mix too. The CN crew on the lead engine seemed to give me a nice horn salute here too. I loved it. This CN grain train is headed for the Alton & Southerns gateway yard over in East St. Louis illinois near valley junction. I do not know where it will go from there when it departs. Motive power for this awesome CN unit grain train is 2 Canadian National EMD SD70M-2’s #’s 8895, and 8012. Then on the tail end of the train as a single DPU was another Canadian National EMD SD70M-2 #8878. Bummer the rear end CN locomotive didn’t have its rear end red marker lights on but hey, it was still a real neat thing for me to see despite nobody else came here for it. Not too many grain trains ever tend to run on the CN St. Louis district thru Belleville Illinois nowadays so this is a very rare occasion. This was why I knew I had to get it on video.
