Coste Apetrea (Samla Mammas Manna) Interview (5/12/24)

Coste Apetrea is a Swedish musician, guitarist and composer of Romanian heritage. He is highly regarded among progressive guitarists worldwide. Coste began his career by joining progressive band Samla Mammas Manna in 1972 and would record 3 albums worth of material with the band during the 70’s. After leaving the band Coste would enjoy a fruitful collaboration with Finnish guitarist Jukka Tolonen, recording 7 albums over the period 1977 to 2003. He has toured widely across Europe, composed music for TV and film and built his own recording studio. Mr. Apetrea has also collaborated with many artists worldwide including Stefan Nilsson and Anders Paulsson. And over the years he has released 6 solo albums A reunion in 1990 with Samla Mammas Manna led to a couple of more albums as well as tours to Japan, US, Europe, Canada and Russia. My guest is still writing, producing, teaching and playing live.
