Warm and cold water mixing creates movement in the ocean, and keeps large currents moving around the world. You can watch those currents form and move right in front of you with this hands-on science experiment for children.

For this experiment, you will need
a large shallow tray or baking dish (see through or light coloured)
cold water
hot water
spoon
ice
two colours of food colouring
shells or rocks
