GCSEs are well known and have been available for many years. In 1988 IGCSE qualifications were introduced, which are recognised internationally; examinations now being taken in excess of 100 countries.

These qualifications are accepted extensively by colleges and universities as part of their entry criteria and are being taken up by more and more independent schools every day.
