Shri Souvik Chakraborty holds the degree of SANGEET VISHARAD from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. He is an empaneled artist and teacher of Indian Council for Cultural Relations, and Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre. He has received the title “NRITYA NIPUNA”, from Nalanda Dance Research Academy,(Mumbai), “SRINGAR MANI” from Sur Singar Samsad (Mumbai). And he has received the prestigious award titled “GURU KELUCHARAN MAHAPATRA YUVA PRATIBHA SAMMAN 2008” conferred by Kelucharanji’s organization “Srijan”(Bhubaneswar). Recently he has been awarded with the prestigious USTAD BISMILLAH KHAN YUVA PURASHKAR, 2015 conferred by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi.

He has performed in many prestigious festivals in India and abroad. ). Apart from Padatik Dance Centre, he has experience working in the choreographies of the great Gurus like Pt. Birju Maharajji, Smt. Saswati Sen, Smt. Rani Karnaa. He is also experienced working with some foreign choreographers and dancers.

He hopes to propagate dance not only as an art form but a medium of freedom of emotions and thoughts for the younger generation. Shri Souvik Chakraborty started learning Kathak Dance at a very tender age at Padatik Dance Centre under the supervision of Pt. Vijai Shankarji and Smt. Chetna Jalan. Later he learnt from Smt. Madhumita Roy and completed 7th year Post Graduation course from Padatik Dance Centre. Since last twenty years he is taking talim from the doyen of Kathak Pt. Birju Maharajji in several workshops and special classes in Kolkata and Delhi.
