On January 9, 2021, 32-year-old Jason Nightengale was shot and killed in Evanston by police after going on a killing spree. He injured 7 people, 4 of which have died. At 1st it wasn’t apparent that these shootings were connected until it was too late. Nightengale returned to one of the scenes and engaged in a shootout with the police. Somehow he fled to Evanston where he held another victim hostage before killing her. Shortly afterwards, he was stopped for good.
A lot of people often attribute mental illness to violent shooters like Nightengale. Why not just call a spade a spade? These people are just evil. He has a very long criminal history including assault, domestic abuse (in Evanston), and violation of a protective order.
