Zoom Recorders Become Accessible, A Look At The Zoom H1 Essential

For years, if you wanted a digital recorder with spoken menus, Olympus was the only game in town. Even this option has slipped away though, as newer Olympus recorders have dropped accessibility. In Late January 2024, Zoom announced their new Essential line of recorders. To the delight of many of us in the blind community, the description for these new recorders heavily promoted voice guidance for blind content creaters. In this video, I am excited to take you on a brief tour of the H1 Essential. I will show you the hardware, and show off the new accessible menus. Along the way, I will also give my thoughts on this device as we explore Zoom’s first accessible recorder. Come on in and join me on this exciting tour.
