A Parliament House security guard who was on duty the night former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins alleges she was raped has spoken out for the first time.

Nikola Anderson conducted a welfare check on Ms Higgins not long after the alleged incident.
She's told the ABC's Four Corners program she was shocked at what she saw.
