Electra EL9 electric hybrid aircraft tests and design

After 1 year of testing of their 2 seater ElectraEL2 version, Electra just revealed the design of their 9 seat ElectraEL9 a version for which the company already has 2100 of orders from 52 operators!
Founded in 2020 the company developed a 150Kw hybrid aircraft powertrain with 4 independent battery packs and a small turbine generator to feed the eight electric motors.

The EL9 is not a vtol but stol (short take-off and landing) that takes-off in 150feet (46M) for a range of 1100 nautic miles (2000km) with IFR reserves and has cruising speed of 175knots (324km/h).

The EL9 will be able to carry 9 passagers with luggages or 3000 pounds de cargo (1361kg)

The first tests of the EL9 are planned for 2027.
