Does Gears of War Hold Up?

Releasing roughly a year after the launch of the Xbox 360 Gears of War revolutionized the third person shooter genre and came with truly next generation visuals in tow. In this Gears of War Retrospective Review I reflect on what made the title a phenomenon that helped drive the success of the Xbox 360. By implementing cover based third person shooter better ever seen before and maintaining a cinematic presentation in a grim world Gears of War managed to influence the industry in a major way and established itself as a long running multi media franchise. This is a re-upload as the initial video featured audio glitches as the result of an export error.
