I’m Olivia C. Some of my most influential accomplishments are fixing a 1990's clown, Repairing two 1985 Teddy Ruxpin, fixing over 51 Furbys, and of course my numerous intricate drawings! What I embrace most about my work is fixing robots, drawing them and producing new ones. I have repaired many things and broke many things, but each thing I broke I gained a new piece of knowledge and experience to help me shape who I am today. I believe everything has a possibility to work again, because nothing is beyond broken.

A time when I confronted failure was when I just began repairing old toys. I used to purchase broken toys and try to restore them at a young age. I would occasionally discover a broken toy laying around, and I would take on the new challenge. At the beginning of my journey, I could not fix any and ended up making the problem worse.

This matters because I recognized at a young age that I desired to work in the robotics field, and I needed to obtain experience. I find it interesting how things are made, and I wanted to know how every gear operated and which way the motors turned. The principle of animating objects through metal to recreate a sense of life intrigues me. This was the first passion I had when I was little.

So, through various toys wasted, I was capable to fix one, an animatronic blue rabbit. After that, I realized that I’m doing something right and I have a chance at this. I soon got my first vintage Furby, he was in non-working order, I was determined to restore him, so I took him apart and worked on him for 8 months straight. One night the Furby ultimately sprung to life, and now I have learned how to repair them in under an hour.

I like to stay humble but highly motivated.
