Howto install Hive on Ubuntu

This BigData101 Hive tutorial will help you to learn how to install Hive on a Single Node Hadoop Cluster installed on CentOS. The same steps can be used for Hive Installation on Ubuntu, Hive Installation on Mac and Hive Installation on Windows (using a linux VM).

Below are the software that are required for this setup:

1) Single Node Hadoop Cluster: In this Hadoop Tutorial we have used a Single Node Hadoop Cluster installed on Ubuntu, but these steps will also work on CentOS. You can also use a Hadoop Cluster Installed on Ubuntu, MAC or Windows (using linux VM). In case you have this ready, please follow the steps in the video first to set up Single Node Hadoop Cluster.
2) Hive Binary file: In this Hadoop Tutorial, we have used one of the latest and stable version of Hive i.e. hive-3.1.1. The same steps can be applied to install any of the Hive versions.
