LESSER KNOWN CITIES IN EUROPE! | Timisoara, Romania | Transylvania Travel Vlog 2022

Are you looking to visit lesser known cities in Europe? In this Transylvania Travel Vlog, we are taking a train to Timisoara! This is day 9 of our Transylvania Train Series.

Day 9 of our Transylvania Train Series took us from Arad to Timisoara by train. It took an hour to get to Timisoara from Arad by train. The train tickets cost $3.5 per person! Cities in Transylvania and Romania are very well connected. This is just one way that Romania is one of Europe’s most underrated countries!

Timișoara is a university city and industrial center in western Romania, with a multicultural heritage due to its location in the Banat region and a history of ethnic, linguistic, and cultural diversity. Timișoara will be the European Capital of Culture in 2023!

Today we’ll show you how to tour Europe on a budget. In Timișoara, we visited the Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral and Fabric Synagogue. We spent time admiring all the beautiful Art Nouveau buildings around the city. Had some fun in the Children’s park and finished up our sightseeing tour by attempting to get a tour of the Timișoreana brewery. The Timisoareana brewery was founded in Timișoara in 1718, which makes it the first brewery in Romania. Sadly, the brewery was closed for tours, instead, we hung out at the tasting room and each had a couple of beers.

Traveling Transylvania in 2022, there is so much to offer. A local recommended we try local Romanian cuisine from the restaurant Miorița. We each ordered our own dish and our entire meal at Miorița cost a total of $24, which makes Transylvania and all of Romania a great option if you are traveling Europe on a budget.
