When I was 12 years old, I started my own business raising sheep and have continued growing this business, still operating it out of Meridian. From the small beginnings of a couple sheep, I grew the business to national recognition within the breed and the industry, selling breeding stock from coast to coast. This experience let me see first-hand how important agriculture is to Idaho’s economy and way of life, and how much of a burden regulations and taxes place upon small business owners. Government has been steadily encroaching upon our free market, making it harder and more costly to start and run a business. As your representative, I’ll work to lower taxes, drastically reduce regulations, and make sure that our economy prioritizes small businesses and the hard working entrepreneurs who run them. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, so it is essential that we get government out of the way so that they can truly thrive. Whether it’s restaurant owners, tradesmen, business consultants, technology professionals, realtors, farmers and ranchers, or any of the other entrepreneurs who provide for their families and create jobs for their communities, we need to stand together to ensure that we have a government that doesn’t give favors to some and burden others, but one that gives everyone an equal opportunity where all can achieve their goals. I’m grateful to have experienced the American Dream right here in Meridian, and I am dedicated to standing up against those who want to take that away. I look forward to being your representative and together, we will make sure that we all can experience the success of capitalism right here in Idaho.
