The first CLT building on the University of Washington campus is an expansion of the Foster School of Business. The 85,500-square-foot building, Founders Hall, was constructed in a seismic zone using cross-laminated timber and structural solutions developed by Simpson Strong-Tie. In this case study, we explore how Simpson Strong-Tie partnered with the project engineers to bring a legacy of service and tested engineering innovation to mass timber.
