Join us on a short drive from Bedfordshire to the beautiful Ashridge Estate, owned by the National Trust in Hertfordshire. We packed the grandchildren into the van for a lovely little adventure, even if the weather couldn’t make up its mind!

After a walk through the woods in rain, sunshine and more rain, we drove down to Hill Farm Barn Café close to Northchurch for some ice creams, coffee and a chance to feed the horses.

It’s one of those simple family days that make great memories, and perfect for anyone looking for a short countryside escape near Dunstable or Berkhamsted.
