On the afternoon June 12, 2025, Patrolwoman Amy Beringer with the Monmouth Beach Police Department responded to a call where someone reported 2 individuals allegedly having sex on the beach. After they received more information about where the call was located, Chief Daniel McManus made contact with the caller and advised the other 3 officers to make contact with the couple.

The officers located the couple on the beach, and they were identified as Amanda Mohr and Edgar Dillon. Amanda was initially topless, and an officer asked her to put on a shirt. Sergeant Junquet made contact with a group of witnesses nearby who saw the couple having sex. A video of their rendezvous was captured by a witness on his phone, and Sergeant Junquet asked him to email the video. Patrolwoman Beringer watched the video on his phone, and it confirmed the accounts of multiple others who claimed that they saw a couple having sex on the beach.

Both individuals were advised that they were under arrest for lewdness. They were afforded an opportunity to put on their clothes and gather their belongings before they were escorted off the beach. Amanda and Edgar were transported separately to the Monmouth Beach Police Department for further processing.

Both Amanda and Edgar were issued summonses for Lewdness – Observed by Others, which is a violation under 2C:14-4A. After they were issued their summonses, Amanda and Edgar both were released pending their court appearances.

Records indicate that Amanda has previously worked as a teacher, and it appears that both individuals currently work together as real estate agents.
