California Theatre, San Bernardino, California

California Theatre (or Theater) of the Performing Arts in San Bernardino is one of the longest surviving buildings with that name (there were California Theaters in San Francisco and other parts of the state). It is still in operation, but mostly as a music venue among other sorts.

This is known to be the place where humorist Will Rogers made his last performance before his tragic 1935 death. The theater is also the place where 1930s classics "King Kong" and "The Wizard of Oz" were screened for the first time.

The California Theatre was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 22, 2009 (#09001116).
