Johnny Gray's Gulfstream G-500

Johnny Gray is a retired NHRA drag racer and oil company executive. His father was a self-made oil industry titan in New Mexico and north Texas. Johnny Gray was president of Marbob Energy, the New Mexico oil producer co-founded by his father. Gray and his sister sold the company in 2010 for $1.7 billion in proceeds.

Johnny Gray competed in the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) for many years. He started in the early 1990s and worked his way up through different classes, including Competition Eliminator, Pro Stock, and finally Funny Car.

He retired from racing in 2013 to focus on supporting his son and grandson's racing careers. Since 2021, he's been a partner in Tricon Garage, a NASCAR team where his grandsons, Tanner and Taylor Gray, race.
