"Black Leather Jackets" is an episode from the American anthology series "The Twilight Zone," originally created by Rod Serling. The story unfolds in a tranquil suburban American town where three aliens disguised as young men in black leather jackets—calling themselves Scott, Steve, and Fred—rent an empty house. The trio is part of an advance party for an alien invasion with a mission to contaminate the city's water reservoirs with bacteria intended to exterminate all humans and domestic animals. Complications arise when the youngest alien, Scott, falls in love with Ellen Tillman, a human girl living next door. His affection for Ellen leads him to reveal the invasion plan, hoping to convince her to escape with him. Ellen, believing Scott's tale to be the rantings of a lunatic, tells her father, Stuart Tillman, who subsequently calls the local sheriff. Unbeknownst to him, the deputy sheriff responding to the call is also part of the invasion force. In a desperate attempt to save humanity, Scott contacts his planet's leader to report that the initial assessment of humans as inherently violent was erroneous. The leader dismisses Scott's plea and brands him a traitor. In his final effort, Scott returns to Ellen's house but is apprehended by the alien deputy. As Ellen's parents comfort their daughter, they remain oblivious to the impending doom.
