Our Fashion Design Students Feedback & Learning Experience

The industrial visit to Kapse Paithani, Yeola was a truly enriching and eye-opening experience for all our students. It offered a deep dive into the heritage craft of Paithani weaving one of Maharashtra’s most prestigious and timeless handloom traditions.

Students explored every stage of the weaving journey, from yarn selection to dyeing, motif planning, and loom operations. They learned how each Paithani saree is thoughtfully created with precision, patience, and incredible craftsmanship. Understanding the significance of colours, borders, buttas, and the iconic peacock and lotus motifs helped them appreciate the cultural value behind every design.

Interacting with the skilled artisans was the most inspiring moment of the visit. Their dedication, years of practice, and passion for preserving this age-old craft motivated our students and gave them a new perspective on Indian handlooms and sustainable fashion.

This visit not only strengthened their technical knowledge but also developed their respect for handmade textiles and the artisans who keep these traditions alive.
