Streamlined F-Unit Still Pulling Freight on the West Virginia Central

When diesel locomotives began mass production, nearly every manufacturer built multiple styles, including the sleek lines of the "streamliner", especially suited for passenger service.

Today, very few of these vintage beasts are still earning their keep hauling freight trains...but one of those special places is the West Virginia Central. The freight arm of the Durbin and Greenbrier Valley Railroad, WVC operates along the scenic route serving a number of customers through West Virginia. I was lucky enough to catch a somewhat rare weekend freight run, and I certainly enjoyed the appearance of a Western Maryland F-unit towing freight through the Mountain State!
