On May 12, 1997, an extremely small scale weather event (at best) would occur in Southern Florida. Soon, on this calm spring day, one of the an extremely rare supercellular (?) storm would begin to form, approaching the south-east side of the state. All of a sudden, as the storm reached the Miami-Dade area, a small funnel cloud would form, causing brief and scattered damage around the city. But, as the storm would approach Biscane Bay, The tornado began to rapidly intensify and transform into a massive & white “cone tornado”. This twister, rated F1, would injure 12 people throughout the city. Unfortunately, the well-visible tornado did also damage multiple structures, throughout its 8-mile-long path. Not only did it cause extensive damage, but its photogenic look and occurences in the mid-day resulted in it being extremely well documented from countless POVs in and out of the city. Unfortunately, these angles have been somewhat scattered online from multiple places. So, i’ve decided to compile all videos I could find of this tornado into one 27 minute long comp with you! Credits to their respective owners, which are labeled in the bottom left corner. I will say, most of these are grabbed from news broadcasts, which promptly resulted in non-raw media, weird credits, and myself having to piece together said footage. Don’t forget to subscribe!
