Revival of Cultural Arts Continues “A Little Bit of Mexico”
Dance Performance Legacy
Brownsville, Texas – January 19, 2024 – Revival of Cultural Arts (ROCA) is honored to continue the
decades long tradition by presenting “A Little Bit of Mexico” Dance Production on Sunday, February 25,
2024, at 7:30 p.m. at the Texas Southmost College Performing Arts Center in Brownsville, Texas.
The Order of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament (OVISS) has endorsed ROCA to continue with
“A Little Bit of Mexico” Production, as a way to honor the legacy of the Sisters who initiated the
celebration of culture through this program for decades. The Sisters are delighted to offer resources,
costumes, and other items to ROCA to enhance the production and continue the success of “A Little Bit
of Mexico.” Sister Annette Wagner, OVISS, Delegate of the Superior General, said, “We want to
continue gifting the Brownsville community with a celebration of culture through music, performance and
visual arts.”
Hilda Ledezma, founder of ROCA and a dedicated parent of Incarnate Word Academy, expressed deep
gratitude for the opportunity to carry forward this cultural legacy. More than a mere production, it stands
as a heartfelt tribute to the Sisters for their unwavering dedication and legacy of Catholic education in
Brownville for 170 years.
"This marvelous gift from the Sisters is a testament to their years of service,
and we are confident that it comes with great blessings from the community,
” Ledezma said. “We aim to
continue the tradition and charism of the Order of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament, working to
bring about a Christian wholeness in each person we meet and a Christian unity among all.”
ROCA is grateful for this year’s “A Little Bit of Mexico” Steering Committee:
Edward C. Camarillo, Nidia Ruiz, Rocio Lopez, Fidencio Ballí, Jose Ledezma, Kimberly Ledezma,
