Should Spain Apologise for the Reconquista?

Recently a Muslim leader from the Ishbilia Mosque in Seville, Spain, requested a formal apology from the King of Spain for the persecution of Muslims under the Spanish crown following the Reconquista (Reconquest) in the 16th and 17th Centuries. The statements made on Facebook by the leader highlight persecutions, murders and expulsions, without acknowledging that for a period of almost 800 years, when various Islamic dynasties ruled areas of the Iberian Peninsula, almost the exact same actions were commited by Muslim rulers against the dhimmi (non-Muslim i.e Christians and Jews) population.

Una mezquita de Sevilla pide que el Rey se disculpe por la discriminacion contra los musulmanes y moriscos despues el fin de la Reconquista en los siglos XVI y XVII. Los comentarios de Facebook protestar " las vilezas, expoliaciones, destierros y asesinatos" cometido por los españoles, sin reconocer los crimes cometido por los musulmanes contra los dhimmis (ni-musulmanes i.e los cristianos y los judios) por casi 800 años.
