In this video I unbox my newest Cartier timepiece: the Cartier Tank Must Solarbeat!


This is Cartier’s first sustainable timepiece. It takes about 6 times less water and energy to produce.


The Cartier Tank Solarbeat looks like a Tank, feels like a Tank and wears like a Tank. In fact, it’s basically identical to a gold Tank Louis Cartier. It is basically a steel, solar-powered version of the Tank Louis Cartier.


It is available in 2 sizes: Small and Large. The one I unbox is a large.


Aesthetically, the dial on a Tank SolarBeat is indistinguishable from a traditional quartz powered Tank Must.


The Solarbeat movement relies on the delicate and invisible perforation of Roman numerals, whose openings allow solar energy to reach photovoltaic cells hidden under the dial.
