My First 1000 Gallon Koi Pond | Oase Biotec Screenmatic 60000 | Koi Filtration System |

Hi all.

Welcome to my channel.

I hope you enjoy my first upload of my self made 1000 gallon Koi pond. The pond itself is of very basic construction. 1000 gallon plastic holding tank which has been buried (with approximately 10 inches of the top showing) and then finished off with some old bricks I had lying around after the garden makeover. I think it has come together quite nicely and is a lovely feature for the garden.

Currently the pond has 4 Koi. Two Sanke, one Ochiba and a Gin Shiru Utsuri. I am fully stocked with the 4 Koi. I never intended to have a large pond and honestly, I never really wanted one. I'm aware that there are maybe more appropriate and efficient ways to build Koi ponds but due to my desired stocking levels and size pond that I wanted, I feel like this is a nice compromise.

The pond is filtered by an Oase Screenmatic 60000 filtration system. Oase Aquamax Eco Premium pump. Oase Bitron 55 UV Clarifier and an Oase Aqua-Skim 20 pond skimmer.

It’s still early days and there is so much more I want to do with the pond (aesthetically mainly) in the future so keep an eye out for more videos soon.
