I've been hard at work with a handful of different projects. This short but explosive piece by Sam Whitaker for example. I approached this song with the hope of creating a fun and bouncy metalcore banger, which is what the instrumental really facilitated.

From a technical and mixing perspective I had the Slate VMS model the SM7. I used the Blue 1176 compressor from Slate to shape the vocal and slammed that into Finality by Joey Sturgis Tones. I bounced the stems out like that and then limited them a bit more while mixing with Ozone's Maximizer taking off another DB or so each individual track. EQ was done on the vocal bus and slight dip was made to the instrumental around the 1k area to facilitate the vocals better. The mastering chain was Waves L1 into just a tiny bit of JST Clip to make it sound crushed and massive.
