Many business analysts prioritize BA certifications over gaining the domain knowledge they need to work effectively with their customers. This is not an optimum career strategy for most business analysts.

Business analysts who can speak intelligently about the subject matter will always have a better chance of success in their interviews.

This is why I advise business analysts to prioritize gaining domain knowledge ahead of certifications.

In this previous video, I encouraged you to think more broadly about where you invest your time and money when it comes to certifications. I put a lot of emphasis on the importance of domain knowledge because of the value employers see in your ability to speak intelligently with your customers.
