Kenmore 106.8761890 18,000 BTU Air Conditioner Repair and Test

Testing and repairing (basic repair/early stages of restoration) a Kenmore 106.8761890 18,000 BTU air conditioner made by Whirlpool. The machine uses a Matsushita rotary compressor with 44 ounces of R-22 refrigerant. It calls for 9 amps on 230 volts. Despite being store brand products, these were very good quality machines with top of the line components.

The unit is suffering from a significant amount of rust damage, but it is not by any means beyond repair. The capacitor was also failed. The motor calls for a 5 micro-farad capacitor, but the compressor's rating is not present. The old cap, which was spoiled on the fan side only, tested around 25 micro-farads. Using this information, I assume the machine calls for a 25/5 capacitor, but I would like to confirm before replacing it. The machine ran properly with a 30/5 capacitor.
