In the previous video (   • Java Programming: Lesson 1 - Printing Stat...  ), we figured out how to write a Java programming. Basic printing statements and writing comments. Here, we learn addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and remainder.

Remember that Java treats ints as ints, so if you want perfect division then you must convert one of the numbers to a floating point number (decimal). Use a percent sign for modular arithmetic, which returns the remainder when one number is divided by another number. If addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division operate with a floating point number / decimal (double), then the result will be a decimal (called double in Java).

System.out.println( 26 * 10 ); //260
System.out.println( 3 / 10 ); //0
System.out.println( 10.0 / 2 ); //5.0
System.out.println( 15 % 4 ); //3
