Volvo XC40 (2019-2025): Oil Change! Tools, Torques, Part Numbers. Detailed Tutorial.

This video will show how to change engine oil and oil filter in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 Volvo XC40.

We will show how to remove the plastic cover underneath the engine; how to remove the drain plug and the oil filter housing; the required torques for the drain plug, oil filter housing, and the oil filter housing drain bolt; how to check for leaks; how to check the engine oil level and all required tools and part numbers.

Volvo recommends to use the Castrol Edge Professional or other ACEA C5, VCC RBS0-2AE 0W-20 type engine oil.
Volvo XC40 engine oil and oil filter should be replaced every 10000 miles or once per year.

Volvo XC40 Engine Oil Capacity (With Filter): 5.6 L or 5.9 qts.

Oil Pan Drain Plug Torque: 38 Nm or 28 ft/lbs.
Oil Filter Housing Torque: 25.5 Nm or 19 ft/lbs.
Oil Filter Housing Drain Bolt Torque: 4 Nm or 3 ft/lbs.
