This film is dedicated to Fr. James mc Dyer who founded the Folk Village in 1967.

Glencolmcille is a Gaeltacht coastal parish along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Glencolmcille is nestled on the south west of coast of Co. Donegal.
In wind, rain or sunshine it's dramatic in all the right way's.

It is steeped in History, Tradition, Irish language, Culture, Music, Archaeology and Lore.

At the Folk Village you can relive Irish life going back to the 1700's ,1800's and 1900's in our traditional thatched cottage museum and historical trail. Our Folk Village is a champion for local hand crafts and the views from our nature walk out over the Atlantic are breath taking. The Folk Village Tea House is world famous for it's food and charm and we can boast a fine relationship with major tour and cruise companies.

Within a five mile radius you can climb world class sea stacks (Unique ascent), cycle through 5,000 years of history (Ireland by bike ) or learn our native Irish Language at Oideas Gael.
